SERVANT-Leadership™ 101 – Lesson 2

Inverted Pyramid

SERVANT-Leadership™ 101 – Lesson 2: Flip Your Pyramid and Make a Circle

Resources Page

In this lesson, I explain the traditional leadership hierarchy model, visualized in a pyramid. Then, why servant leadership is often depicted as the same pyramid, flipped upside down. However, that often reflects too narrow of a view, so I expand on the concept and suggest the model should be a circle of inverted pyramids. I also define the term stakeholder (in servant leadership terms) and explain why servant leaders never “let the inmates run the asylum”.
